What is BBC Music Day?

Friday 5 June is the first ever BBC Music Day. It’s a nationwide celebration of everything we love about music, with the aim of bringing people together from all backgrounds, all ages and across musical genres.



There’ll be live performance events, coverage throughout the day on local and national radio and TV, and a BBC Music Night concert live from Glasgow. Featuring classical, pop and rock stars, this BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3 and BBC Asian Network broadcast will be hosted by Ken Bruce and Katie Derham.


BBC Music Day will also launch a search for your local Unsung Heroes. These are people who have dedicated their time to changing people’s lives through music; bringing people together with a lasting legacy. We’ll have more details on this soon.
